Member Guide to Product Development

ACRM members are encouraged to develop products that advance rehabilitation research, education, and clinical practice. Products may include Information & Education Pages (I/EPs), fact sheets, journal articles, practice guidelines, position statements, manuals, toolkits, and other educational resources.

The ACRM Communications Committee supports members throughout the product development process and reviews products seeking official ACRM branding, publication, or dissemination support.

Why Develop an ACRM Product?

  • Advance rehabilitation research and practice
  • Share knowledge and resources with the rehabilitation community
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and organizations
  • Increase the visibility of your committee, ISIG, networking group, or task force
  • Build professional expertise and contribute to the field

What Types of Products Can Be Developed?

ACRM products can take many forms depending on the goals of your committee, ISIG, networking group, or task force.

  • Information & Education Pages (I/EPs)
  • Fact Sheets
  • Journal Articles and Literature Reviews
  • Practice Guidelines and Recommendations
  • Position Statements
  • Manuals and Toolkits
  • Educational Resources and Research Initiatives

If you are unsure whether your idea qualifies as an ACRM product, contact the Communications Committee for guidance.

Developing an ACRM-Branded Product

  1. Submit your idea for feedback using the Product Review Request Form.
  2. Develop your product with support from your committee, ISIG, networking group, or task force.
  3. Submit the completed product for Communications Committee review.
  4. Address any requested revisions.
  5. Upon approval, ACRM will assist with branding, publication, and dissemination as appropriate.

Products developed in collaboration with other organizations are welcome. Previously published materials may also be incorporated when appropriate permissions have been secured.

ACRM Review & Branding

Committees, ISIGs, networking groups, and task forces are free to develop projects independently. However, products seeking official ACRM branding, publication, website placement, or dissemination support must complete the ACRM review process.

The review process helps ensure products meet quality standards, align with ACRM's mission, and provide value to rehabilitation professionals, researchers, consumers, and caregivers.
